Manufacturing Sales registered RM52.3 billion in April 2016

The sales value of the Manufacturing sector in April 2016 decreased by 1.2% (RM0.6 billion) to record RM52.3 billion as compared to RM52.9 billion reported a year ago.

Total employees engaged in the Manufacturing sector in April 2016 was 1,020,964 persons, a decrease of 0.8% or 8,291 persons as compared to 1,029,255 persons in April 2015.

Salaries & wages paid in April 2016 increased by 6.0% (RM177.1 million) to record RM3,142.1 million.

Productivity decreased by 0.4% to record RM51,238 as compared with the same month of the previous year.
