Manufacturing Sales registered RM55.9 billion in August 2016

The sales value of the Manufacturing sector in August 2016 recorded RM55.9 billion, a decrease of 0.6% (RM0.3 billion) as compared to RM56.2 billion reported a year ago.

Total employees engaged in the Manufacturing sector in August 2016 was 1,028,091 persons, an increase of 0.2% or 1,548 persons as compared to 1,026,543 persons in August 2015.

Salaries & wages paid in August 2016 increased by 6.8% (RM203.2 million) to record RM3,191.2 million.

Productivity decreased by 0.7% to record RM54,356 as compared with the same month of the previous year.
