Manufacturing Sales registered RM55.8 billion in June 2016

The sales value of the Manufacturing sector in June 2016 grew 2.9% (RM1.5 billion) to record RM55.8 billion as compared to RM54.3 billion reported a year ago.

Total employees engaged in the Manufacturing sector in June 2016 was 1,022,882 persons, a decrease of 0.1% or 1,318 persons as compared to 1,024,759 persons in June 2015.

Salaries & wages paid in June 2016 increased by 5.0% (RM152.6 million) to record RM3,181.6 million.

Productivity increased by 3.0% to record RM54,585 as compared with the same month of the previous year.
