Manufacturing Sales registered RM51.8 billion in May 2016

The sales value of the Manufacturing sector in May 2016 increased marginally by 2.0% (RM1.0 billion) to record RM51.8 billion as compared to RM50.8 billion reported a year ago.

Total employees engaged in the Manufacturing sector in May 2016 was 1,024,759 persons, a decrease of 0.3% or 2,744 persons as compared to 1,027,503 persons in May 2015.

Salaries & wages paid in May 2016 increased by 4.1% (RM120.7 million) to record RM3,058.4 million.

Productivity increased by 2.3% to record RM50,578 as compared with the same month of the previous year.
