Manufacturing Sales registered RM59.7 billion in October 2016

The sales value of the Manufacturing sector in October 2016 recorded RM59.7 billion, an increase of 1.9% (RM1.1 billion) as compared to RM58.6 billion reported a year ago.

Total employees engaged in the Manufacturing sector in October 2016 was 1,029,141 persons, an increase of 0.1% or 994 persons as compared to 1,028,147 persons in October 2015.

Salaries & wages paid in October 2016 increased by 5.7% (RM175.0 million) to record RM3,230.4 million.

Productivity increased by 1.8% to record RM58,039 as compared with the same month of the previous year.
