LIFE EXPECTANCY AT BIRTH

o    A baby born in year 2023, 2024 and 2025 on average is expected to live until 74.0 years, 74.9 years and 75.3 years, respectively.

o    A baby boy born in year 2023, 2024 and 2025 on average is expected to live until 71.7 years, 72.7 years and 73.1 years, respectively.

o    A baby girl born in year 2023, 2024 and 2025 on average is expected to live until 76.6 years, 77.6 years and 77.9 years, respectively.

 

LIFE EXPECTANCY AT SPECIFIC AGE

AT AGE 15 YEARS

o    Males who reach the age of 15 years in 2025 is expected to live another 58.8 years.

o    Females who reach the age of 15 years in 2025 is expected to live another 63.6 years.

 

AT AGE 60 YEARS

o    Males who reach the age of 60 years in 2025 is expected to live another 18.8 years.

o    Females who reach the age of 60 years in 2025 is expected to live another 21.6 years.

 

AT AGE 65 YEARS

o    Males who reach the age of 65 years in 2025 is expected to live another 15.3 years.

o    Females who reach the age of 65 years in 2025 is expected to live another 17.6 years.

 

LIFE EXPECTANCY AT BIRTH BY MAJOR ETHNIC GROUP

Chinese remains having the highest life expectancy at birth for 2023 to 2025.


LIFE EXPECTANCY AT BIRTH BY STATE

Selangor recorded the highest life expectancy at birth for 2023 to 2025 while Terengganu recorded the lowest life expectancy at birth for the same period.


LIFE EXPECTANCY AT BIRTH BY MAJOR ETHNIC GROUP BY STATE

Life expectancy at birth for Malay and Chinese was the highest in Selangor as compared to other states in 2025.

 

LIFE EXPECTANCY AT BIRTH BY ADMINISTRATIVE DISTRICTS

Samarahan, Sarawak recorded the highest life expectancy at birth for 2023 (79.8 years), 2024 (80.4 years) and 2025 (80.9 years). Meanwhile, the lowest life expectancy at birth was recorded in Kecil Lojing, Kelantan for 2023 (63.6 years), in Kuala Penyu, Sabah for 2024 (66.5 years) and in Kanowit, Sarawak for 2025 (66.5 years).
