In the second quarter of 2025, total revenue of the Services sector recorded RM641.4 billion, registering a positive growth of 5.7 per cent as compared to the same quarter in 2024. The increase was driven by Wholesale & retail trade, Food & beverage and Accommodation segment, which collectively contributed RM484.0 billion, increased 4.9 per cent. On a quarterly basis, total revenue registered a growth of 1.8 per cent.

The total number of persons engaged in this sector amounted to 4.6 million persons, an increase of 2.1 per cent against the corresponding period of the previous year. For quarterly comparison, the number of persons engaged rose 0.6 per cent.

Salaries & wages in the second quarter of 2025 posted a growth of 4.2 per cent to reach RM34.0 billion compared to the same quarter a year ago. Compared to the first quarter of 2025, salaries & wages increased 1.1 per cent.
